Catawiki is a curated marketplace for special objects, auctioning over 100,000 unique items weekly and having sold 25+ million objects globally. The Platform Horizontal function supports reliability, developer experience, security, and quality across the engineering organization.
As a Platform Engineer, you will work at the intersection of development, infrastructure, and operations to shape and execute the long-term platform vision. You'll empower Catawiki teams to deliver value with speed, reliability, and security.
Key responsibilities:
- Build and improve self-service developer platform capabilities, designing systems that abstract infrastructure complexity and enable teams to deploy, monitor, and optimize applications
- Orchestrate cloud-native infrastructure, managing Kubernetes clusters and cloud resources with focus on performance, scalability, and cost efficiency through FinOps practices
- Boost developer productivity by building and enhancing CI/CD pipelines, GitOps workflows, and reusable templates
- Drive reliability and scalability through fault tolerance, disaster recovery, and scaling practices
- Improve platform operations and enhance observability stack to monitor platform health and resolve incidents proactively
- Collaborate with product teams to understand needs, build impactful solutions, and champion cloud-native best practices
You'll be part of an 800+ person organization with offices in Amsterdam and Lisbon. The role is hybrid, requiring a minimum of 2 days per week in the Amsterdam HQ. Catawiki offers visa sponsorship and relocation support for selected candidates.

REQUIREMENTS:
- At least 5 years of production experience with Kubernetes, container orchestration, and cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, or Azure)
- Experience automating workflows and CI/CD pipelines using infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or Ansible
- Hands-on experience with observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, or OpenTelemetry
- Strong ownership mindset: proactively address platform issues and work toward long-term scalability and resilience
- Collaborative approach: work effectively with developers and cross-functional teams to align goals and deliver impactful solutions
- Commitment to continuous learning in cloud-native tools, technologies, and practices
