Arista Networks is seeking a Network System Test Engineer to join its quality assurance and testing organization in Bengaluru. You will work alongside software development engineers, hardware engineers, field support engineers, product managers, and other test engineers to analyze customer requirements, create comprehensive software test plans, and validate that products meet customer expectations. You will also collaborate with customer support and engineering teams to reproduce and debug escalated customer issues in the lab. In this role, you will focus on finding complex, hard-to-detect bugs in Arista's networking products—the kinds of issues that automated unit and product-level tests miss. Rather than executing rote manual regression testing, you will work embedded within multiple engineering teams, collaborating side-by-side with developers and product engineers to explore, identify, and resolve software problems before they reach customers. You will design test network topologies to validate functionality, performance, stability, and scalability; write detailed test plans; execute comprehensive testing; identify defects; and validate resolutions. You will participate in functional specification and software design reviews, providing customer-centric input. The role operates in an agile environment with short development cycles and a strong emphasis on test automation and quality. Arista is an engineering-centric company with flat management, founded and led by engineers who understand sound software engineering principles. The company is headquartered in Santa Clara, California, with R&D centers in Australia, Canada, India, Ireland, and the US, all considered equal in stature. You will have complete ownership of your projects and access across the company to work on various domains within networking and cloud infrastructure. REQUIREMENTS: - Bachelor's degree (BE/B.Tech) or Master's degree (ME/M.Tech) in engineering with networking industry experience - Proven expertise in creating test methodologies and writing test plans - Strong knowledge in one or more of: Ethernet, RSTP/MSTP, VLANs, IP Routing, TCP/IP, OSPF, IS-IS, BGP, IGMP, PIM SM/SSM, QoS, L2-L3 protocols, platform validation, HA, network management - Experience with IXIA and/or Spirent test tools is desired - Ability to work collaboratively with developers on automated test planning - Proficiency on Linux platform - Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills for network and system problems
