Wayve is building an AI platform for autonomous driving using end-to-end learning from real-world vehicle experience. The company is pioneering a mapless, hardware-agnostic approach that enables vehicles to learn and adapt at scale.
As an ML Triaging Engineer (Customer Integration Engineer) on the Triage team within Application Software Japan, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety, reliability, and efficiency of Wayve's ADAS+ systems. This role bridges Detective Engineering, Triage Engineering, and component teams to identify root causes in real-world vehicle behavior and resolve issues rapidly.
Your day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Performing first-level analysis on real-world run data and on-road interventions to identify likely root causes
- Investigating complex or ambiguous runs in collaboration with Detective Engineers
- Partnering with Triage Engineers to support and improve automated triage solutions
- Managing the complete issue lifecycle: identification, investigation, resolution, documentation, reporting, and follow-through
- Adding accurate metadata to interventions, including root cause labels, Jira links, and comments
- Validating triage automation bots, offline metrics, and simulation suites to ensure quality standards
- Providing feedback on triage tooling and suggesting improvements to usability and speed
- Participating in regular standups to address emerging concerns and adapt to process changes
- Contributing to high standards of safety, quality, and operational discipline
You will handle multiple triage tasks, requests, and safety incidents simultaneously as the team scales. The role requires strong cross-functional collaboration across time-zone-distributed teams and a deep commitment to safety-first principles.
