Strava is hiring a Marketing Analyst to join the Marketing Analytics team, which measures paid and organic marketing performance and impact on brand awareness, monthly active users (MAU), registration, and subscription growth. This role reports to the Marketing Analytics Manager and works closely with Brand Marketing, Growth Marketing, Community Partnership, Design, and leadership teams. You will own brand media measurement planning and strategy, ensuring marketing investments align with Strava's brand marketing OKRs. A key responsibility is driving alignment across teams by gathering requirements from partners and ensuring measurement capabilities complement their workflows. You will deliver data-driven media performance reviews that translate complex findings into clear narratives for weekly and monthly business reviews. You'll serve as the "source of truth" for internal stakeholders on critical metrics like aided brand awareness, familiarity, and consideration, taking ownership of strategic initiatives with minimal guidance. The role involves applying expertise in brand health surveys, including statistical sampling and result interpretation, to proactively identify and address gaps. You'll create and manage data pipelines from multiple sources, designing scalable and performant ETL workflows while mentoring teammates on technical best practices. Collaboration with Strava's broader data organization (Machine Learning, Data Platform) is essential, demonstrating determination to improve technological craftsmanship even in ambiguous situations. Strava is a consumer fitness platform with over 200 million athletes across 185+ countries. The company is backed by Sequoia Capital, TCV, Madrone Partners, and Jackson Square Ventures. The role operates on a flexible hybrid model requiring more than half your time on-site in the New York office—three days per week. **Requirements:** - 5+ years of full-time experience in analytics, data science, or quantitative domains supporting growth marketing teams, with a track record of independently executing large-scale measurement projects - 3+ years of experience with performance measurement across paid and organic channels (TikTok, Meta, Reddit, and similar platforms), with ability to anticipate and evaluate cross-channel strategy risks and opportunities - Track record of defining and building key metrics and dimensions that reflect user behavior and drive marketing decisions; proactive approach to challenging assignments with strong organizational alignment - Highly skilled in SQL with extensive experience extracting large datasets and designing ETL workflows that balance performance and scalability; analytical rigor to identify solutions to complex, ambiguous problems - Proficiency in quantitative programming languages like Python; experience with Tableau; consistent drive to improve processes and tools - Comfort operating in ambiguity—ability to design appropriate tests, identify proxy metrics, and transparently frame uncertainty to empower decision-makers - Deep technical expertise in brand measurement methodologies including Marketing Mix Modeling (MMM), brand lift studies, and experimental design - High ownership of work with proactive collaboration across the business to ensure alignment and maximize impact - Strong communication skills; ability to craft compelling narratives and proactively share relevant insights - Consistent track record of meeting goals, keeping projects on pace, and following through on commitments; ability to analyze and prioritize based on impact - Ability to spot overlooked patterns in data and make recommendations to improve team self-service capabilities and ways of working
