Wave Mobile Money is building financial services for Africa, with a mission to make the continent cashless. The company operates a mobile money platform across 9 countries in Sub-Saharan Africa, serving millions of users with no-fee banking, instant availability, and widespread merchant acceptance. As Head of Marketing for the Mali market, you will own the complete local marketing strategy aligned with business growth targets and brand ambition. You'll serve as the strategic marketing partner to the General Manager and cross-functional leads in Operations, Sales, Support, and Product. Key responsibilities include: developing and executing local marketing strategy with budget and resource accountability; leading full-funnel campaigns across ATL, BTL, and social media; managing market intelligence including consumer insights and brand health tracking; creating processes and documentation to guide cross-functional project delivery; and aligning Mali's growth and brand strategies with global direction through collaboration with the group marketing team. You'll lead a marketing function, supervise team members, and drive measurable commercial impact through large-scale, multi-channel campaigns. The role requires fluency in French and English, at least 12 years of marketing experience with 5+ years in leadership roles managing teams and budgets, and proven success delivering against aggressive business growth targets (users, revenue, market share, brand health). The position is based in Bamako with monthly travel upcountry. Work authorization in Mali is required.
