Wayve is building the leading AI platform for autonomous driving using end-to-end AI that enables vehicles to learn from real-world experience. The Evaluation Tools group builds internal products that accelerate the full AI Driver development loop, from test definition to model behavior debugging. You'll join the Search & Agents squad in Sunnyvale, building search, scenario mining, and agentic tooling that enables developers to find driving scenarios and turn them into tests without writing SQL. This work is the entry point to a fully agentic development loop: identify an issue → mine for scenarios → build and run a test suite → root-cause the failure → retrain → repeat. In this role, you'll work across the full stack and own features end-to-end: talking to users, shaping ideas, building robust software, and validating impact. Day-to-day responsibilities include building fullstack features across search, scenario mining, and agentic tooling; talking directly with model developers and researchers to understand pain points and define success metrics before building; taking the scenario mining framework from prototype to production scale; extending agent tooling so agents can run evaluation workflows end-to-end; working with large-scale data systems (Databricks, Spark) in an established codebase; and owning the reliability and maintainability of shipped features. You'll contribute to architectural decisions that scale across the team's products and use AI tools to improve how the team builds, from speeding up development to refining workflows and product quality. Wayve operates a hybrid model combining in-person collaboration in dedicated office spaces with focused remote work time. The company has main hubs in London, Sunnyvale, Yokohama, Herzliya, Vancouver, and Leonberg. Wayve is not a mature, fully-structured organization—much of how the company works is still being written, and you'll help shape it. This suits people who want real ownership more than those who need a settled structure from day one. REQUIREMENTS: Essential: - Strong development skills in Python, TypeScript, and JavaScript, with experience using React or similar front-end frameworks - Strong SQL skills with solid understanding of database design and optimization - Experience designing and building production-level fullstack systems and reliable, high-performance APIs - Track record of building robust, maintainable systems and applying engineering best practices - Excellent communication and collaboration skills, including working effectively across time zones - Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, high-context, ambiguous environment - Power user of AI development tools with a mindset for building AI-augmented workflows Desirable: - Experience with search, embeddings, or retrieval systems - Experience with Databricks platform and large-scale data processing with Spark or similar - Experience with job orchestration frameworks such as Flyte - Experience building agentic or LLM-powered developer tools (e.g., MCP servers) - Experience building tools for technical users (ML, robotics, infrastructure) - Experience with scientific data visualization or complex data interfaces
