Beautiful Destinations is a global travel marketing company that combines creative storytelling with AI-enabled content platforms and over a decade of travel data. The company partners with leading destinations and travel brands, backed by a community of 50M+ travelers and a network of 500+ creators and filmmakers worldwide. You will own the day-to-day development of Beautiful Destinations' Content Operating System (COS)—the internal platform that manages production from brief intake through finished content delivery. This is a live, production system used daily by the team. You'll ship the roadmap, maintain platform reliability, and make architectural decisions on how it evolves. Weekly direction comes from the COO; implementation is entirely your responsibility. You'll work on a small, focused technical team where code ships to production within days, not months. There are no lengthy release cycles or bureaucratic overhead—just build, ship, and iterate. This is an AI-native engineering role: you'll direct coding agents daily and hold their output to production-grade standards, working at the forefront of how software development actually works in 2026. Key responsibilities include shipping features across the platform (FastAPI services, React frontends, PostgreSQL, Google Cloud Run), owning sprint commitments end-to-end (scoping, building, testing, releasing), maintaining platform performance and reliability through monitoring and incident response, working with coding agents to refine conventions and guardrails, building for real users running live client work, making and documenting architecture decisions while managing technical debt, and collaborating closely with the AI Developer on shared infrastructure and AI-powered products. REQUIREMENTS: - 4+ years building and running production web systems that you owned (not just contributed to) - Deep expertise in Python (FastAPI or similar), React, TypeScript, and relational databases—not surface-level knowledge - Genuine cloud experience: you've deployed, monitored, and debugged systems on GCP or AWS - Daily use of AI tools (required, not optional) - Comfort with remote, async work on a small team with weekly direction and high autonomy - Clear written communication skills (critical in a low-synchronous environment)
