Glimpse is an AI platform for CPG (consumer packaged goods) brands that automates critical back-office workflows including deductions management, revenue recovery, and cash application. Since launching in April 2024, the company has grown to 200+ customers and raised $52M from investors including a16z, 8VC, and Y Combinator.
As a Founding Forward Deployment Engineer, you will sit at the intersection of customer needs and product reality. You'll own customer problems end-to-end, taking vague asks and driving them to shipped solutions without waiting for formal specifications. Your responsibilities include:
- Owning customer problems end-to-end and picking up critical work as needed
- Identifying the real problem behind customer requests and translating feedback into clear product direction
- Building data integrations that handle messy ERPs, undocumented data sources, SKU/inventory/transaction/invoice data across legacy and modern systems
- Designing scalable integration patterns and approaches that work across multiple customers and ERP systems, not one-off scripts
- Making correctness a first-class requirement by building validation, exception handling, and reconciliation into workflows, especially where AI touches financial data
- Setting high standards for code quality and using AI dev tools as a core part of your workflow
- Mentoring teammates and building alignment across engineering, product, and customer-facing teams
You'll help define what the Forward Deployment Engineer function looks like as it grows, and the integration patterns and validation standards you establish will outlast any single customer engagement.
The role is based in NYC with an in-person team emphasis, offering high ownership, fast feedback loops, and direct impact on a company scaling rapidly.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 5+ years of software engineering experience with real time spent in customer-facing, solutions, or forward-deployed work
- Hands-on experience with data pipelines and integrations against financial or operational systems (ERPs, accounting, inventory, order management)
- Comfort with messy, legacy, and undocumented data sources
- Track record of owning ambiguous projects from first conversation to production
- Strong instincts for testing, validation, and auditability; healthy skepticism about where AI belongs in financial workflows
- Daily use of AI-assisted development tools
- Clear communication in conversation, writing, code, and design docs
- Low ego and high standards; ability to give/take feedback and handle disagreement constructively
- Experience building with LLMs
- Technical proficiency with Python, Node.js, Next.js, MongoDB, and PostgreSQL
NICE TO HAVE:
- Experience with retail, CPG, supply chain, or finance-ops data
- Prior early-stage or founding-team experience
- Familiarity with reconciliation or audit requirements for financial data
