UFORCE is a defence-technology company founded in Ukraine and headquartered in London, building uncrewed vessels, ground robotics, aircraft, autonomy software, and command-and-control systems. The company operates across Europe, the United States, and Asia, with product lines including the MAGURA family of uncrewed surface vessels, NEMESIS strike platforms, LIUT ground robotic platforms, and counter-UAS systems. As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you will own technical execution in real-world deployed environments, closing the gap between Engineering, Product, Operations, Customer Success, and customers. This role requires comfort operating across multiple technical domains—software, electronics, hardware, communications, and operations—rather than as a single-discipline specialist. Key responsibilities include: - Deploying, troubleshooting, and supporting systems in real-world environments outside the lab - Diagnosing and resolving issues across domains using structured fault-finding under real-world time and resource constraints - Preparing for deployments through checklists, spares, tools, documentation, and readiness checks - Capturing field observations and translating them into clear engineering feedback - Supporting demonstrations, trials, and customer-facing technical activities - Building relationships across Engineering, Product, Operations, and Customer Success, with willingness to pitch in on hands-on tasks outside a narrow job description Expect regular travel and field time, hands-on work, and close collaboration with cross-functional teams. REQUIREMENTS Must-have: - Systems-minded engineering judgment: ability to explain interfaces, dependencies, and trade-offs across complex technical systems, and reason practically across software, electronics, hardware, and communications - Practical field troubleshooting experience: demonstrated ability to diagnose and solve technical problems in deployed or operational environments (field, workshop, lab, customer site, military, maritime, robotics, aerospace, or automotive) with limited time, tools, or backup - Deployed operational discipline: experience preparing equipment, documentation, checklists, spares, or field processes ahead of operational activity; willingness and ability to travel and work outside a narrow discipline - Clear technical communication: ability to capture faults, risks, and observations clearly, and explain technical issues to both specialists and non-specialists - Cross-functional and high-ownership mindset: comfortable supporting hands-on tasks outside a formal role description to help deployments or events succeed - SME-level depth in at least one relevant technical domain (e.g., software/embedded systems, electronics/comms, or hardware/mechanical systems) - Customer-facing technical confidence: experience representing a technical team in customer-, operator-, or field-facing settings Nice-to-have: - Background in defence, maritime, robotics, aerospace, automotive, or other high-reliability deployed systems - Working technical depth across more than one domain (e.g., software and electronics, or electronics and mechanical systems)
