Halter is a venture-backed agtech company transforming grazing management through virtual fencing technology. The company is backed by Tier 1 investors including Founders Fund, Bessemer Venture Partners, and DCVC.
This newly created role sits within Finance Systems and centers on NetSuite and enterprise planning tools, with a focus on shipping AI-powered automation into production. You'll work closely with the Senior Manager of Finance Systems and partner with FP&A and accounting teams to identify high-impact automation opportunities.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design, build, and deploy finance automations using enterprise AI tools (including Claude) and own their ongoing maintenance and support
- Track native AI capabilities across NetSuite and the EPM tool, recommending adoption opportunities
- Partner with FP&A, accounting, and Finance Systems to scope automation opportunities based on real process problems
- Occasionally reprioritize to build quick tools, scripts, or automations that unblock finance team bottlenecks
- Contribute to broader finance systems work including platform upgrades and new market entry initiatives
- Work with the Senior Manager on scope and priorities as the team's AI and automation specialist
You'll spend time learning how finance actually operates, understanding where AI genuinely helps versus adds noise. The role is still taking shape, and you'll help define it. Halter operates on an office-first (not office-only) basis with a high-trust culture.
Requirements:
- Proven experience shipping automation or AI-powered tools into production and supporting them post-launch
- Background or genuine interest in accounting and finance, with willingness to help during busy periods (accounting qualification not required)
- Strong judgment about where AI helps a process and where it creates unnecessary complexity
- Track record of owning work end-to-end from scoping and testing through delivery and maintenance
- Comfort with a role still being defined
- Strong communication skills and patience explaining technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
Bonus qualifications:
- Exposure to NetSuite, EPM, or planning tools
- Experience with AI frameworks, agent tooling, or workflow orchestration
- Exposure to system implementations, UAT, or structured project work
- Progress toward or completion of professional accounting qualification (CA or equivalent)
