Salary: USD 129,000 - 171,000 / annual
Anduril Industries is a defense technology company transforming U.S. and allied military capabilities through advanced technology. This is an early-to-mid career role embedded within a high-tempo, multi-disciplinary engineering team focused on environmental and reliability testing. You will support end-to-end test campaigns—including Design Verification Testing (DVT), qualification, and reliability testing—for advanced optical payloads across air, ground, maritime, and space domains. This role is ideal for a hands-on engineer who thrives on taking complex hardware from early proof-of-concept through to full-rate production.
Key responsibilities include:
- Function as a member of an interdisciplinary team executing static, dynamic, fatigue, thermal, and vibration testing on all Anduril product lines for the Imaging Division
- Test items ranging from small integrated electronics systems to full system-level sensors
- Operate thermal chambers, shakers, data acquisition systems, and structural test equipment to satisfy test objectives
- Lead test design reviews, visit vendors, define and execute hardware test plans
- Build test equipment, implement test automation, analyze failures, and execute qualification campaigns
- Travel to test sites as needed, including local and out-of-state travel (potentially one to two weeks at a time)
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of professional experience in a related engineering field
- Solid knowledge of climatic and dynamic testing
- Solid knowledge of environmental test instrumentation and data acquisition
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and with various teams and key stakeholders
- Must be capable of lifting at least 50 lbs for short periods
- Must be comfortable with hands-on work and working in noisy environments, including outdoors under adverse weather conditions
- Minimum BS in an engineering discipline
- U.S. Person status required (position requires access to export-controlled data)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Environmental testing experience at previous jobs for military and/or commercial industry
- Strong knowledge and test execution per MIL-STD-810 and/or MIL-STD-461
- Strong knowledge of shock and vibration testing, including fixture design and control strategies
- Strong knowledge of various instrumentation and data acquisition systems
- MATLAB/Python scripting for test data automation and processing
- Basic understanding of hoisting, lifting, and rigging
- Experience operating shakers, chambers, and other major test apparatus
- Environmental Stress Screening Principles knowledge
- CAD skills (any platform) and ability to create high-quality engineering drawings meeting industry standards
- Experience in immersive interdisciplinary technical projects (collegiate or professional)
