Neko Health is redefining preventative care by making data-driven health insights accessible before symptoms appear. In a single non-invasive visit under an hour, proprietary technology and clinical care combine to deliver personalized, actionable insights.
You will lead the Engagement pod as an Engineering Pod Lead—a building leader who has shipped consumer apps people love and wants to stay deeply involved in the work. You'll lead a pod of four to six engineers, spending most of your time building and delivering, with the remainder setting technical direction, owning quality, and raising the bar for your team.
The Engagement team owns the Neko app across iOS, Android, and web, including wearables integration, notifications, and the screens members encounter during their scan and doctor debrief. Members trust Neko with their health data, so every interaction either deepens that trust or erodes it. You'll obsess over creating an experience members love, return to, and share with friends.
In your first 6–12 months, you will:
- Ship the Engagement roadmap on time and at quality, building alongside your pod on the app, wearables, notifications, and clinic screens.
- Set technical direction for the app platform: native mobile, health data integration from wearables and phones, and notifications designed to make the app worth opening daily and turn a scan into a lasting relationship.
- Own quality metrics: crash-free rate, performance, release cadence, app store standards, and clinic screens built with the same craft as the consumer app.
- Build a pod that improves every quarter through hiring, mentorship, direct feedback, and AI tools integrated into every engineer's workflow.
- Know what is really happening in the code and the numbers, and communicate it clearly.
The stack includes React, React Native, TypeScript, Swift, Kotlin, C#, Node, Cosmos DB, Figma, Azure DevOps, and Claude Code.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Deep experience building consumer products across the stack, including native mobile at scale: React Native, with Swift or Kotlin where needed, and web.
- Proven track record owning a retention or engagement metric in a consumer product and moving it.
- Experience owning an app store release process and managing crash-free metrics.
- Experience leading engineers as a tech lead or equivalent, with demonstrated ability to raise team standards and judgment. Direct, low-ego, high expectations.
- Daily use of AI coding tools with shipped examples to demonstrate.
PREFERRED:
- Background in health, fitness, or behavioral products where engagement made a real difference to people's lives.
- Experience with on-device health data (HealthKit, Health Connect), wearables, or notifications at scale.
- Strong eye for motion, animation, and the details that make an app feel polished.
