Anduril Industries is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the Materials Review Board (MRB) and Sustainment team within the Air Dominance and Strike Aerostructures Engineering group. This role manages a team of MRB analysis and sustainment design engineers responsible for dispositioning non-conformances and releasing repair solutions for metallic and composite structures on Group 5 air vehicles and missile platforms.
You will own the end-to-end health of the MRB system, from non-conformance intake and structural substantiation through repair drawing release and production closure. Key responsibilities include hiring and mentoring analysis and design engineers, establishing technical standards, reviewing complex or high-risk dispositions and repair designs, and serving as an escalation point for the most difficult non-conformances.
You will partner cross-functionally with Quality Assurance, Manufacturing Engineering, Design, Materials & Processes, and Program Management to prioritize work, resolve blockers, and protect production schedule. You will drive root cause and corrective action (RCCA) programs to reduce recurring non-conformances, rework, and scrap. Additionally, you will build and continuously improve MRB processes and tools to scale the team as production rates increase, report on team throughput and non-conformance trends, and balance workload across analysis and design disciplines.
The role requires travel up to 25% to vendors, production, and test sites to support hardware builds and troubleshoot issues directly.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience
- 8+ years of experience in aerospace structural analysis, design, or liaison engineering, with direct MRB or non-conformance disposition experience
- 2+ years of experience leading or managing engineers, either as a people manager or in a senior technical leadership capacity
- Strong understanding of structural substantiation (static strength, fatigue, damage tolerance) and structural repair design for metallic and composite structures
- Demonstrated ability to set technical standards and review others' work across both analysis and design disciplines
- Excellent cross-functional communication skills to represent the team to Quality, Manufacturing, Program Management, and senior engineering leadership
- Self-driven with strong autonomy and adaptability in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance
- Ability to travel up to 25% to vendors, production, and test sites
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Prior MRB signature/delegated authority on a production aerospace program
- Experience standing up or scaling an MRB function in a high-rate or rapidly scaling production environment
- Familiarity with military airworthiness and structural substantiation standards (MIL-HDBK-5, MIL-STD-1530)
- Experience with finite element analysis tools (NASTRAN or equivalent) and CAD/repair drawing tools (Siemens NX or equivalent)
- Background in design-for-manufacturability, lean manufacturing, and continuous improvement for complex assemblies
- Broad experience across a range of aircraft or missile programs
- Hands-on experience in an aircraft manufacturing or depot repair environment
