Salary: USD 88,000 - 121,000 / annual

Apex manufactures satellite buses (spacecraft platforms) at scale, combining software, vertical integration, and hardware designed for manufacturing. As an Early Power Electronics Engineer, you will join a closely integrated team driving the architecture, development, and delivery of flight-critical power systems for spacecraft. You'll work on designing spacecraft power generation, storage, conversion, and distribution systems to meet platform requirements, with the opportunity to approach problems from clean-sheet design and inform trades across Apex's fleet. You'll contribute to component development in a vertically integrated environment and be innovative in pushing the limits of design and performance. Key responsibilities include: - Design, analysis, and testing of spacecraft power systems (generation, energy storage, distribution, DC-DC conversion) for harsh environments - Electrical power system and sub-system level design trades and requirements development - Electrical power system verification testing and analysis - Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams (design, test, production engineers) on power electronics hardware - Drive system and electrical architecture trades, product requirements, component selection, design analysis, schematic capture, prototyping, bring-up, design documentation, manufacturing planning, and production test - Learn technical leadership across the organization, manage program risk and change, and drive new technology introduction Apex is a fast-growing startup that has raised over $500M in funding. REQUIREMENTS: - U.S. Person status required (ITAR compliance for export-controlled data access) - 1+ years of spacecraft electronics experience - Experience across spacecraft power systems - Bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering or related field (Master's preferred but not required) - Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to convey decisions and conclusions to multiple audiences - Extensive experience in spacecraft design, launch, and operation across all development lifecycle phases - Experience in integrated software/hardware verification and testing
