Dominion Dynamics is building autonomous and uncrewed aircraft systems for the Canadian Armed Forces and allied defense partners. As Director of Systems Integration, you will own the architecture for a complex system of systems spanning the aircraft itself, peer platforms, control stations, ground sensors, and command posts.
You will define how mission autonomy, sensors, and payload systems interface with the aircraft's flight management, guidance/navigation/control (GNC), and avionics. You will also architect how the aircraft interfaces with control stations, fighter jets, sensors, and command posts. Your decisions at the architecture level ensure that capabilities and interfaces are safe and executable across all integrated systems.
You will sit at the intersection of the autonomy/mission systems organization and the aerospace engineering organization, with the authority to resolve architectural disagreements directly rather than escalate them. You will own the system-of-systems architecture, bridge autonomy and aerospace teams, define and control interface control documents (ICDs) for mission autonomy software, vehicle management, flight control systems, and all aircraft subsystems. You will establish systems integration standards, review processes, and architecture governance as the program scales. You will lead systems integration reviews, represent the integrated architecture at program-level design reviews, identify and resolve architecture-level conflicts before they become schedule or safety risks, and build and mentor the systems integration function as the team grows.
The role offers high autonomy, direct access to leadership, rapid iteration cycles, and the opportunity to see your work deployed with the CAF immediately. You will work in a high-trust environment with short feedback loops and the ability to make decisions that ship quickly.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience architecting systems of systems spanning both software autonomy and physical vehicle platforms
- Track record owning integration architecture across multiple engineering organizations
- Deep expertise in interface control and requirements management between software/autonomy teams and hardware/vehicle teams
- Demonstrated ability to resolve architecture-level conflicts and trade-offs with direct authority to make decisions
- Experience building and scaling the systems integration function itself
- Eligible to obtain and maintain a Canadian security clearance (Secret or higher)
- Engineering degree in a relevant discipline
NICE TO HAVE:
- Experience on autonomous or uncrewed aircraft programs
- Background in Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) or systems architecture frameworks
- Experience with flight-critical or safety-critical systems integration (DO-178C/DO-254 or equivalent)
- Exposure to RCAF, DND, or NATO airworthiness pathways for uncrewed systems
No defense background required.
