Cascade is a fintech startup backed by Canadian and US investors that democratizes access to institutional debt for companies globally. As a Data Engineer, you'll be an early member of a growing technical team building a pioneering platform in the debt infrastructure space. You will design, build, and launch efficient, scalable, and reliable data pipelines to move and transform data across the organization.
Key responsibilities include:
- Building databases, data lakes, and data ingestion pipelines to integrate customer databases and datasets into Cascade's systems
- Ingesting financial datasets from external customers and maintaining accurate, complete data mappings to ensure high-quality product data
- Monitoring and alerting across data pipelines to ensure reliable and correct data ingests
- Translating business goals and stakeholder requirements into new data flows and delivering analytical insights that create real business value
- Developing APIs and integrating with third-party APIs

REQUIREMENTS:
- 3+ years of experience in a data engineering or data analyst role
- Experience with relational SQL and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB, MongoDB, Bigtable, etc.)
- Experience working with loan or credit data
- Experience with ETL technologies (Databricks, Fivetran, dbt)
- Proficiency in writing SQL queries and knowledge of analytical data warehouses (RedShift, BigQuery, Snowflake)
- Some experience with CI/CD automation (GitHub Actions)
- Bonus: fintech/SaaS experience or credit analysis background
