Supabase is the Postgres development platform, providing a complete backend solution including Database, Auth, Storage, Edge Functions, Realtime, and Vector Search. The company is fully remote, globally distributed, and open-source-first, with ~400 team members across 60+ countries.
You'll join the Data API Team to improve the feature set, reliability, and performance of Supabase's Data API, which is based on the PostgREST project. This is an ideal role for someone who thrives in async, fast-paced environments and is excited about building developer tools that scale to millions.
Key responsibilities:
- Work on PostgREST's PostgreSQL driver (based on Hasql), removing bottlenecks and improving performance
- Develop new features and bug fixes for PostgREST, aligned toward a multitenant Data API
- Resolve incidents and escalated support issues while improving observability and performance
- Collaborate cross-functionally with other teams to debug and solve integration issues with the Supabase platform

REQUIREMENTS:
- Strong Haskell skills with at least 3 years of experience
- Experience using the C language
- Solid knowledge of SQL and plpgsql scripting in PostgreSQL
- Strong track record of contributing to and engaging with open-source projects (bonus: maintained an open-source project)
- Strong experience providing technical support to users with varying levels of technical expertise
- Experience debugging applications under the Linux operating system
