MasterClass is seeking a Creative Director to lead creative strategy and execution for MasterClass Certificates, a new product offering. You'll work directly with the Executive Creative Director to shape how Certificates are positioned and marketed to the world.
In this hybrid role, you'll balance strategic thinking with hands-on creative work. You'll lead a small, nimble team of editors, designers, and writers to bring new courses to market through compelling creative campaigns. Your responsibilities include:
- Developing and executing creative strategy for the Certificates product line, working closely with the go-to-market lead to align on briefs and positioning
- Leading creative direction on trailers and video content, from conceptualization through final edit
- Writing scripts, copy, and building presentations yourself—this is a role where you stay close to the work, not just directing from above
- Setting and maintaining the creative bar across all Certificates marketing, establishing consistent tone, messaging, and craft standards
- Partnering across Content, Social, and Product teams to ensure creative reflects user needs and brand identity
- Directing video, design, and copy teams to produce standout work across course launches and platform updates
- Leveraging AI tools to accelerate ideation and production while preserving brand voice and craft quality
- Presenting creative strategy and rationale to senior leadership with authority and conviction
You'll have creative authority, a seat at the table with senior stakeholders, and the trust to make decisions quickly with incomplete information. Success depends on building alignment across teams and earning trust through strong concepts and execution.
Required qualifications: 8–12 years in creative roles (ideally both agency and in-house), a portfolio demonstrating strategic range and hands-on craft, proven track record developing and enforcing brand standards, experience presenting to senior stakeholders, comfort leading through matrixed team structures, working fluency with AI creative tools, and versatility across copy, visual direction, video direction, and executive materials.
