Salary: CAD 98,400 - 147,600 / annual
Jane App is hiring a Cloud Security Engineer to help build out its Platform Security function from the ground up. You'll work directly with Alexa Yiouroukis, the Staff Cloud Security Engineer, on hands-on hardening work across cloud-native systems, CI/CD pipelines, and container infrastructure that protect Jane's healthcare platform and sensitive patient data.
In this role, you'll contribute to maturing Jane's cloud security posture management practice across AWS environments, focusing on signal over noise and building remediation workflows that actually improve security rather than just accumulating alerts. You'll ship CI/CD security integrations that developers want to use, hardening the software supply chain by understanding pipelines, container image validation, secrets gates, and automation that turns security findings into actionable developer output. You'll partner with infrastructure and product teams to embed security into workflows they already use, making secure defaults the easiest choice.
A significant part of this role involves shaping Jane's AI security program at scale. Jane is building AI-native healthcare software, and the security function is architecting for the frontier ahead as much as securing what exists today. You'll contribute to standards, tooling, and governance patterns for how Jane builds, deploys, and operates AI agents and systems safely. You'll also participate in on-call rotation and help build runbook quality and post-incident reviews so the team responds faster and learns from every incident.

REQUIREMENTS:
- 2 to 4 years of solid grounding in AWS security across IAM, networking, compute, and storage, with a track record of taking ownership and growing your skills. Comfort reading and writing Terraform signals real depth.
- Working knowledge of CNAPP or CSPM tooling such as Wiz or Prisma Cloud, including how findings get operationalized, how false positive rates get managed, and how security posture actually improves over time.
- Experience with at least one of: secrets detection and remediation, IaC hardening, container image scanning, or CI/CD pipeline security controls, along with understanding of the full SDLC picture.
- Kubernetes or EKS security fundamentals, including RBAC hardening, Helm security configuration, network policies, and admission control, ideally with hands-on experience implementing policy guardrails via Kyverno or OPA/Gatekeeper.
- A systems thinker's approach to security problems: you don't just fix the immediate issue, you follow the thread to understand what created it, what else it touches, and what would prevent it from appearing again.
