Formlabs is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Desktop team and help build PreForm, a world-class 3D print preparation application used by over 50,000 industry leaders worldwide including Apple, Google, Tesla, and NASA.
In this hybrid role based in Budapest, you will own end-to-end software workflows for a cross-platform desktop application (Windows and macOS). You'll work with C++, Qt 6, and QML on a large, evolving production codebase. Your responsibilities include designing and implementing features from conception through automated testing and deployment, contributing to geometry, rendering, workflow logic, and printer integration, and improving build systems, CI, packaging, and developer tooling. You'll collaborate closely with product, design, QA, and other engineering teams in a fast-moving environment.

The role requires weekly presence in the Budapest office. REQUIREMENTS:
- Strong experience in desktop application development, preferably in C++/Qt
- Ability to architect reliable systems and work effectively in large, evolving codebases
- Deep commitment to code quality, testing, and maintainability
- Comfort with cross-functional collaboration and ambiguous product problems
- Quick learning ability, initiative-taking, and interest in technically varied challenges
BONUS SKILLS:
- Experience leading projects and working with remote stakeholders
- Background in creating automated software build systems
