Carewell is a fast-growing, category-defining e-commerce and service-delivery business focused on caregiving products and solutions. As Business Insights Analyst, you'll be the connective tissue ensuring every part of the business—from merchandising and marketing to Care Services and customer support—can see in numbers whether it's working.
This role is built for someone who wants to go deep on analytical craft, not climb toward management. You'll report to the Sr. Director of Analytics & Data Engineering and work within their canonical data model and BI architecture daily.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design and build reports and dashboards that help stakeholders self-monitor their business area, moving beyond "what happened" to "what's driving it."
• Conduct marketing efficiency analysis (CAC, LTV, spend efficiency, channel performance), merchandising and margin analysis (product/category performance, margin drivers), customer cohort behavior analysis (retention, repeat purchase, Autoship), and Care Services productivity analysis (throughput, service-level metrics, staffing efficiency).
• Build and maintain monthly financial reports with light financial analysis across revenue, margin, and cost lines.
• Turn stakeholder input—hunches, complaints, open questions—into concrete, testable hypotheses about business levers to pull.
• Build tracking to measure results before levers are pulled, then close the loop by reporting back on whether they worked.
• Communicate findings clearly to stakeholders at all levels, translating technical or data-heavy insights into actionable plain language.
• Write complex, efficient SQL independently to build and maintain analytical queries.
• Use AI tools (Claude, Claude Code, Claude Cowork) and Hex as part of everyday workflow from day one.
• Understand table structure and data model design well enough to direct how existing tables should be re-engineered to support new analysis.
• Retire or simplify reports that no longer drive decisions.
You'll work across financial reporting, marketing efficiency, merchandising and margin, customer cohort behavior, and Care Services productivity—not as a subject-matter expert in any one area, but as someone who can get fluent in a new part of the business fast enough to build something useful.
Outcomes you'll drive: actionable reports and dashboards that lead to decisions, trusted monthly financials, self-monitoring KPIs that teams actually use, clear tracking of business levers and their results, demonstrated ability to ramp into new functional areas quickly, and visible practical use of AI tools in analytical workflows from day one.
Requirements:
• 3–5 years of experience in analytics, business intelligence, reporting, or closely related analytical role
• Demonstrated experience working across multiple functional areas of a business (marketing, product, finance, operations)
• Strong SQL skills—comfortable writing complex analytical queries independently, including joins across multiple tables and aggregations at different levels of grain
• Working understanding of relational table structure and data modeling concepts; able to read an existing schema and identify where it should change
• Proven experience with modern reporting tools (Hex, Looker, Omni, etc.)
• Practical, hands-on experience using AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot, or similar) to accelerate analytical work; able to apply productively from day one
• E-commerce or DTC experience strongly preferred; service-business experience (support, care, operations) also valuable
• A specific example from a past role of a report or metric you built that changed a stakeholder's decision—not just informed it
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; comfort presenting findings to stakeholders at all levels
• Track record suggesting genuine interest in going deep on analytical craft over several years, rather than using this as a fast step toward management
• Degree in a quantitative, business, or related field preferred
