Moody's is seeking an Associate Vice President for Ratings within the Financial Institutions Group, based in Frankfurt, Germany. This role focuses on credit analysis and research for banks and financial institutions across the EMEA region. Key Responsibilities: - Lead credit analysis of banks and other financial institutions across EMEA, ensuring accurate and timely rating recommendations aligned with Moody's methodologies - Monitor assigned credits on an ongoing basis, assessing financial performance, business developments, regulatory changes, and emerging risks - Prepare and present analytical conclusions for Rating Committees, contributing insight and judgment to rating decisions - Develop deep understanding of the European banking sector, including key institutions, market dynamics, and regulatory frameworks - Build and maintain effective relationships with issuers, investors, and market participants through meetings, presentations, and analytical enquiries - Produce high-quality research, sector commentary, and thought leadership identifying emerging trends and market insights - Represent Moody's externally at industry events, conferences, webinars, and forums - Collaborate across Moody's Ratings and partner teams to deliver analytical excellence and consistent rating outcomes - Leverage AI-enabled tools, data, and digital solutions to enhance analytical processes and drive efficiency - Support development of junior analysts through coaching, knowledge sharing, and mentorship About the Team: The banks rating team delivers high-quality credit ratings and research, enhancing market transparency and supporting investor decision-making. The team is actively adopting AI tools to improve analytical processes and efficiency across ratings operations. Requirements: - Proven credit/risk assessment experience including strong financial analysis, likely from a financial institution, regulator, or accounting firm - Understanding of European banks and their regulatory environment, key market issues, and main financial institutions - Excellent communication skills—clear and succinct verbal and written communication with some public speaking experience - Strong quantitative aptitude and proven analytical skills - Fluency in German and English (essential); additional languages highly beneficial - Highly organized and efficient, able to multi-task and manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines - Commitment to ongoing professional development and learning - Good understanding of artificial intelligence concepts with curiosity about AI tools for process improvement - Master's degree in Finance, Economics, or related discipline, or equivalent advanced qualification - CFA/CAIA professional qualification highly beneficial
