Salary: USD 108,800 - 157,800 / annual
ServiceNow is seeking an Associate Software Engineer to join their AI control tower platform. You will build cloud software on a market-leading development platform, collaborating daily with developers in an agile environment. The role emphasizes ownership of features that matter to customers, with a focus on quality design and evolution of products across releases. You'll work in a Scrum-based process that prioritizes design, coding, and debugging over heavy documentation.
Key responsibilities include:
- Building cloud software using ServiceNow's development platform
- Collaborating with cross-functional development teams using agile methodology
- Taking ownership of features and driving them to completion
- Designing features with quality and future scalability in mind
- Participating in a lightweight Scrum process focused on hands-on development work
This is a hybrid position requiring 2 days per week in the Santa Clara, CA or Kirkland, WA office. The role supports US Regulated Markets and requires US citizenship, naturalized citizenship, or permanent residency (green card holder status). A background screening including credit check, criminal/misdemeanor check, and drug test is required.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 0+ years of professional software development experience
- Experience leveraging or critically thinking about AI integration into work processes, decision-making, or problem-solving (including AI-powered tools, workflow automation, or AI-driven insights)
- Debugging and testing software through CI lifecycle
- Proficiency with Java, OOP, and Design Patterns
- Experience with relational databases (MySQL, Postgres, Oracle)
- Front-end technology experience (HTML, JavaScript, CSS)
- Working knowledge of development tools (IDE, debugger, build tools, source control, ServiceNow instances, profilers, Unix/system administration tools)
