The Tokyo office, established in 2019, is based in the Otemachi area and has grown rapidly with strategic relationships across major Japanese automotive OEMs. The team includes engineers from Google, Mobileye, TIER IV, Woven by Toyota, Tesla, and other leading companies.
As an Application Software Engineer, you will act as the bridge between customers and engineering teams, driving impact through high-priority customer engagements. You will work closely with autonomy developers to ensure Applied Intuition's products deliver maximum value for customers' autonomy initiatives.
Key responsibilities:
- Work directly with customers to understand their development needs and use cases for autonomy, proposing effective applications of Applied Intuition's products
- Collaborate with engineering teams to align the product roadmap with current and prospective customer needs
- Ensure customer requirements are supported by the broader engineering organization through effective prioritization
- Partner with the sales team to gather technical requirements through detailed discussions and workshops
- Explore new product development areas informed by strategic understanding of the customer landscape
Applied Intuition operates as an in-office company with the expectation that full-time employees work from their office 5 days per week, though the company recognizes the importance of flexibility for occasional remote work and personal commitments.
Requirements:
- Experience interacting with end-customers as an application engineer or developer
- Proficiency in Python or C++ software development
- Strong communication skills with a focus on solving customer problems
- Fluency in English and Japanese
Nice to have:
- Background in technical sales or application engineering for simulation products
- Experience with automotive OEMs or suppliers
- Prior work in autonomous vehicle development
- Software simulation experience
