Lendable is a UK fintech unicorn (800+ employees, profitable since 2017, backed by Balderton Capital and Goldman Sachs) rebuilding consumer finance products—loans, credit cards, and car finance—with modern technology. The company serves the UK and US markets, displacing legacy banking systems with faster, AI-driven processes. You will own AI systems that automate high-impact customer-facing and internal workflows. The team has already built a chatbot handling 1M+ customer chats annually at ~70% resolution, with autonomous account actions; document parsers processing 500K documents yearly; and voice AI pilots. Your mission is to expand these systems and identify new automation opportunities. Key responsibilities: - Improve chatbot quality and expand autonomous account actions - Enhance in-house document extraction pipelines for speed and accuracy - Design LLM-driven workflows for case management simplification - Discover and implement new AI systems to replace manual work - Own solutions end-to-end: discovery, prototyping, deployment, evaluation, monitoring This is applied AI engineering combined with process design and hands-on Python development. You will work on loosely defined problems, rapidly test ideas, and scale the strongest into reliable production services. Requirements: - Strong engineering skills and proven experience building production systems - Hands-on experience deploying LLMs in real workflows - Experience designing and improving prompts, retrieval pipelines, agent workflows, and evaluations - Understanding of business processes and judgment about where AI can simplify or automate them - Ability to structure ambiguous problems, test hypotheses, and make progress with incomplete information - Clear communication and ability to explain trade-offs and influence stakeholders
