BETA Technologies is revolutionizing electric aviation through sustainable aircraft development. This AI/ML Engineer role focuses on building and operating agent, retrieval, data-pipeline, and deployment infrastructure to support aircraft development while creating reusable capabilities for Advanced Systems teams and partners.
You will implement orchestration, tool calls, grounding, permissions, observability, automated evaluation, and program-intelligence workflows. Key responsibilities include coordinating with Lead Applied AI, Digital Engineering, Program, BETA OS, and IT/Cybersecurity teams; producing and maintaining working agents, integrations, and evaluation results; operating an operations dashboard; and supporting the Program Director and Chief Engineer by reducing decision and communication latency while keeping outputs grounded in controlled data. You will document assumptions, interfaces, decisions, risks, and verification needs in configuration-controlled engineering records, and communicate status, unresolved issues, and recommended actions clearly in technical and program reviews.
The role is based onsite at the South Burlington, VT office or Raleigh, NC office. Remote candidates may be considered for a hybrid arrangement with monthly in-person visits to South Burlington, VT. Physical demands include regular work in office, laboratory, manufacturing, hangar, aircraft, and test environments; periods of standing, walking, bending, and hands-on hardware work; occasional lifting consistent with safe work practices; occasional travel or nonstandard test hours; and use of required personal protective equipment.
BETA offers a competitive total compensation package including Restricted Stock Units and Performance Stock Units for all full-time team members, onsite healthcare in Vermont, comprehensive medical coverage, dental and vision, short- and long-term disability, paid parental leave, daily lunch, flight lessons, and additional perks.
